About us

Etherya

It is the fruit of the need and passion to integrate the Ayurvedic medicine into our lives in the easiest way possible.

Why Etherya?

Ether: the first of the 5 elements. The one in which all the others are included. The Ether is the space between us, the space that separates us and unites us at the same time. Without space we don’t have the motivation to be creative, we feel heavy and stagnant.

And if we have this space in excess, the need to fill our emptiness guides us in the wrong ways, such as: eating out of anxiety, working excessively to keep ourselves busy, having superficial relationships only to replenish the need for love, etc.

With the adequate amount of Ether in our body and mind, the need for adequate nutrition is created, among with the desire to learn – explore-travel – evolve, and the ability to build transparent relationships and have mental clarity.

Sofia Vardaki

Ayurvedic Consultant & Massage Therapist

Sofia first started studying Traditional Thai Massage and Thai Manual and Foot Reflexology at the Spanish School of Traditional Thai Massage in Madrid in 2014. Amazed by the power of this technique, she decided to participate in an “OsteoThai” course with David Lütt. And then along with the Thai massage, Ayurveda came into her path. She studied Ayurveda Nutrition, Ayurvedic Massages & Treatments, Medicinal Plants & Herbs, and Diagnosis & Treatment, with Prachiti Kinikar-Patwardhan in Madrid and in Pune, India. She works as a massage therapist, conducts consultations, gives talks and Ayurvedic workshops and is responsible for the Ayurvedic menu and cuisine in the retreats that she organizes.

Irene Zerva

Yoga Instructor

Irene attended her first 200hrs Hatha yoga teacher training in 2013 and then 2 years later, she went to Goa, India, in order to study Yoga based on Ayurveda. Excited by the way this ancient medicine is combined with yoga, she decided to follow a more therapeutic path. In 2015 she attended two trainings on Pregnancy and Therapeutic Yoga and then entered the world of Thai Massage. She lately teaches and experiences Yin yoga after having attended two trainings with Biff Mithoefer. In recent years, through her experience of pregnancy and a very transformative birth at home, she has devoted herself to women and to treat problems of a female nature through Womb yoga and various holistic practices. At the moment, she is a student in the second year of midwifery at University of West Attica and attends ayurvedic postpartum Doula teacher training. She also teaches Therapeutic Flow Yoga and Yin Yoga classes in Athens and during the retreats in which she participates.

Our point of view

There are many ways to learn and share, give and understand, wake up and live. Etherya is our way of getting closer to all of this. We intend not only to escape this consuming routine, stress and emotional / bodily illness, but also to change the way of our actions (in this world).

There is not only our “inside” that we must look for, but also our “outside”. What we think, feel, want, dream, is linked to what we do, eat, buy, choose. Everything becomes “holistic” again, it becomes one. We need to have a healthy body, soul and mind. But we also have to look outside of our “ego”, and see how this body / soul / mind acts on a social level. How we treat people and the earth, and how they treat us.
